When I first met Richard I was 4 stone heavier and lacking confidence, I had tried every fad diet around to try and loose the weight and had given up. My friend suggested Richard as she had been a client of his for several weeks and she couldn\'t help but sing his praises. I was dubious at first, worried a trainer would be rude and just laugh at me for being over weight never mind the fact I had never stepped foot in a gym. My friend persisted and I am so thankful she did. Richard is so kind, friendly and approachable, nothing like i expected from the devil I imagined. He has conquered his own weight problems in the past due to an injury which made me feel a lot more comfortable. The fact that he understood how I felt made me feel at ease and he became my inspiration. One on one training kept me motivated to succeed, I have increased my knowledge on nutrition and now I feel comfortable let loose in Morrisons to get my weekly shop knowing exactly what to eat. I have also increased my stamina and the motivation and commitment to achieve a set goal. I now enjoy exercise and see it as part of my daily routine, I look forward to each session with Richard. I cant believe that I now enjoy running it was an obstacle i never thought I would overcome but with the help of Richard I recently completed the Yorkshire Warrior a 10 mile obstacle course run. I had no idea I could achieve the results I have. Richard has been great and I will continue to train with him in my new goal to tone up and build muscle!
I have been competing in triathlons and running events and wanted to improve my performance and specifically my run times. Richard has worked with me for a number of months focusing on strength work and also speed for the runs and cycling. He has produced a specific strength training programme which he is tweaking monthly to ensure I'm tested fully in a number of different areas and keeping it interesting. He has also given me a plan to work on my running with some technique tips and a plan to focus more on improving my speed. This has shifted my focus from doing distance runs over and over again to doing shorter runs with speed or incline intervals. This means that these can be done outdoor or on a treadmill and makes the runs more interesting. It can also be adapted for my cycling training. Along with all of the above Richard has given me some nutrition tips to support my training. Overall, it's great working with Rich and really helping to improve my strength. My swimming has improved loads and my run times are going in the right direction ready for the 2014 triathlon season!
I would like to say a massive thank you to Richard. I recently had a bad knee injury and Richard's training helped me with my rehabilitation and the work he had me doing has vastly strengthened my leg again and i am happily playing football once more which looked like it wouldnt happen following my injury.
Richard is a fantastic personal trainer and has helped me loose loads of unwanted weight as well as tone up! His training methods really helped with my confidence and now my whole life has improved so I am very grateful.
